Borafa is more than a jewellery brand. It is an art project too, that raises attention towards awareness. Borafa provides an ethical alternative to fast fashion by producing eco-friendly, handcrafted artisan jewellery – thus propagates the importance of quality life. We believe that the true depths of life lie in such simple things as a glass of good wine, a pure melody or a beautiful piece of jewellery.
Borafa jewellery is carefully handcrafted out of recycled wine corks. We transform these corks into jewellery, preserving the original surfaces where wine and corkwood met inside the bottle. Thereby all shades are natural colours of these organic materials. We insert the corkwood pieces in stainless steel with a technique similar to intarsia. The mounted semi-precious stones symbolize drops of wine. For us, every single piece of Borafa jewellery has its own soul. We hope you sense this organic spirit in our artwork.
